Occupational Health and Safety and Environment Technician

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with Portuguese and EU legislation on health and safety at work and the environment
• Implement and maintain integrated management systems
• Coordinate internal and external audits, as well as inspections by competent authorities (ACT, APA, etc.)
• Manage environmental and safety consultancy contracts and other related services
• Prepare and manage mandatory legal documents (PGR, Environmental Reports, Safety Data Sheets, etc.)
• Promote internal awareness and training campaigns (use of PPE, ergonomics, waste management, etc.)
• Monitor performance indicators (accidents, emissions, energy consumption)
• Support the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and ensure compliance with legal environmental obligations
• Manage industrial and environmental licensing activities and requirements

Requirements for performing the role:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or similar field
• Certified professional training as a Senior Occupational Safety Technician (level VI or higher)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial context
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
• Ability to communicate with operational teams and management
• Critical thinking, autonomy and proactivity
