CARMOWOOD.
WOOD WE ARE.

Carmo

In 2025, CarmoWood renewed its image to reflect the company’s evolution.

The change gives its two main areas of activity their own identity and autonomy, allowing for a more effective response to the needs of each sector.

CarmoWood is a leader in several markets and segments, with a consolidated international presence. We currently export to over 40 countries, with the foreign market accounting for around 50% of our turnover.

Values and mission

Transforming wood into solutions that tell stories and stand the test of time.

CarmoWood develops lasting solutions inspired by the timeless strength of wood. The decades of experience it has acquired, particularly in wood processing and treatment, are reflected in the products and services the company currently offers its customers.

CarmoWood’s core value is Resilience.

Like the wood we shape, we face challenges with determination, adapt with purpose and create solutions that stand the test of time.

‘Wood We Are’ represents who we are: strong, resilient and authentic, just like the wood we work with. More than just a material, it is our identity and our commitment to the future.

What we do

Our solutions cover different areas of activity, responding to the needs of the agricultural, forestry and construction sectors. We develop perimeter and security fencing, agricultural structures and solutions for overhead lines and forestry, ensuring strength and durability.

In the field of engineering and construction, we focus on modular construction, leisure and furniture, as well as treated wood and wood products, always with an emphasis on quality, innovation and sustainability.

Why wood?

Wood is one of humanity’s oldest resources and, at the same time, one of the most current.

Natural, renewable and full of life, this material has been with us for centuries, reinventing itself in each generation and in each project.

The choice of wood reflects our conscious, aesthetic, and functional philosophy, combining tradition and innovation to build a more sustainable future.

CHARACTERISTICS OF WOOD

In addition to being a natural material, wood is a sustainable choice for your projects. But it has several other advantages, both aesthetic and functional:

HOW CARMOWOOD ENHANCES CHARACTERISTICS

At CarmoWood, wood is not just a raw material — it is a living resource, noble and infinite in possibilities. From it, we create diverse solutions, always guided by the same mission: to combine quality, innovation, and sustainability.

Every tree that comes to us is used to its full potential, in a circular process that transforms nature into distinctive and durable products, without waste. In this way, we honour what the earth gives us and give back with added value for people and the planet.

Choosing wood is choosing awareness, tradition and the future. It is choosing a material that breathes, protects and inspires new ways of living in harmony with the world.

WOOD AGING AND TREATMENT

In order for wood to maintain its beauty and performance over time, it is essential that it undergoes specific preservation treatment.

This process involves the application of substances that protect it against fungi, insects and other agents of deterioration, prolonging its useful life without compromising its natural quality.

All products used strictly comply with the legislation applicable to biocides, ensuring total safety for people, animals and plants.

The choice of the appropriate treatment always depends on the intended use of the wood.

Different applications require different levels of protection, as humidity and exposure conditions vary depending on the context.

Thus, each treatment class is defined in order to ensure maximum durability and resistance in each project.

History

What is worth doing is worth doing well!

CarmoWood was founded in 1955 and the Carmo brand in 1980, starting out with treated posts for vineyards and later moving on to large posts for telecommunications infrastructure in Europe and Africa.

Over time, it diversified from agriculture to engineering and timber construction. Today, it operates in various markets through CarmoFarm and CarmoForm, maintaining its commitment to quality, innovation and sustainability.

Today, CarmoWood operates in several markets and continues to innovate, passionately developing wood solutions in a sustainable and responsible way. It has distinct brands and business areas: CarmoFarm and CarmoForm. The former continues the legacy of the business more closely linked to agriculture. CarmoForm is the new business area related to engineering and construction.

Guided by sustainability, innovation, and a clear purpose, CarmoWood is committed to creating a world where everything that is made is designed to last — with integrity, care, and respect for people and the planet.
